I started by sculpting the face and hair onto a female base mesh I'd previously created.

I imported the base mesh into Marvelous Designer and created and draped the clothing patterns onto it.

I modeled some armor pieces and imported everything into Zbrush, where I created a high poly sculpt.

I used a combination of Maya, Zbrush, and 3D Coat to create the low poly model. I did most of my UV unwrapping in 3D Coat. Used xNormal to bake the high poly model to a few texture maps, sorted mostly by material type.

Texturing was done in 3D Coat and Photoshop. I frequently bounced back and forth between the two programs.
I also added two previous weapon and shield models I'd made  and recolored them so they would better fit Vaayu's color scheme.

This is an original character of mine that I created for a D&D campaign! Vaayu is a Forge domain Cleric and a fiercely devout follower and champion of Erathis, the Everlight.

Base character model sculpted in Zbrush, with clothing draped in Marvelous Designer. Retopologized in 3D Coat. Armor modeled in Maya. Textured in 3D Coat and Photoshop. Rigged and posed in Maya.
